PRIMARY PURPOSE- The Equipment Operator I is responsible for operating and monitoring the food processing equipment in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws. This position processes raw materials into finished product. Basic job responsibilities are those of a Production Worker plus operating, cleaning and troubleshooting the following equipment: decanters, filters, distillate equipment, blends, and depectinize tanks per procedure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 70% Operate and monitor fruit processing equipment in accordance with interanl specifications; accurately document activities through HACCP forms, sanitation checklist and daily production reports. 10% Operate lift truck. 15% Compound, adjust and package blends of multiple ingredients. 5% Perform pre-operation sanitation inspections of equipment to insure product safety. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned, hours are determined by 24-hour schedule and subject to change. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Specialized equipment used in this job includes: Operation of lift truck, juice filter, decanter, finishers, distillates, various mixers and conveyors. PHYSICAL DEMAND: Lifting, pulling, reaching, carrying, pushing. Sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending. MENTAL OR VISUAL DEMAND: Frequent mental and/or visual attention; the flow of work is either intermittent or the operation involves waiting for a machine or process to complete a cycle with intermittent checking or inspection involved. WORKING CONDITIONS: dust, heat, cold, fumes, noise, vibration, water, and moving mechanical parts. Work is typically performed under reasonably good working conditions; while exposure to any or all of the above elements may occur, such exposure is generally not present to the extent of being disagreeable. ATTENDANCE: Regular attendanceis of primary importance for every position. SUMMARY OF JOB Coordinate the efforts of clients, attorneys and staff to obtain the successful resolution of litigation cases. Assign work to legal secretaries and filing staff. Comprehensively analyze federal and state court pleadings, procedural rules, and discovery materials within specialized practice areas. Solely responsible for the management of multi-file litigation cases, such as forecasting, evaluating court mandated deadlines, and advancing case strategy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Perform initial analysis of claims presented by potential clients, which includes conflict of interest analysis and obtaining information necessary to open new litigation files. 2. Analyze procedural rules in federal, state and administrative forums. 3. Prepare summary analysis for attorney of all incoming pleadings and correspondence based on case facts, strategy, pending deadlines and forecasted case challenges. 4. Responsible for management of attorneys’ calendars. 5. Research, docket and coordinate appropriate and timely response to all court and attorney directed deadlines. 6. Compose non-uniform correspondence and federal and state court pleadings by dictation (i.e., documents are not form driven). 7. Compose comprehensive discovery requests in federal, state and administrative forums. 8. Solely responsible for analyzing incoming discovery requests, coordinating client response, analyzing discovery materials and information provided by clients, composing formal discovery responses and objections, composing comprehensive document summary indexes, drafting privilege logs and timely serving responsive discovery documents and timely following up on outstanding requests for discovery. 9. Comprehensive analysis of all discovery documents received from all parties based on proficient understanding of court rules and case strategy. 10. Analyze deposition testimony and compose comprehensive summary of testimony for litigation team’s use at trial, when necessary. 11. Research court dockets and electronically file pleadings. 12. Investigate defendants and witnesses. 13. Investigate and retain expert witnesses, when necessary. 14. At the direction of attorneys, responsible for management of all aspects of trial and arbitration preparation for multiple day proceedings. 15. Compose settlement agreements, releases and dismissals based on analysis of case facts and settlement terms. 16. Assign work to legal assistant, if appropriate. 17. Actively participate in case strategy meetings with attorneys. 18. Maintain hourly billable requirement of 1500 hours/year. 19. Exercise independent judgment to select deposition exhibits for witnesses based on analysis of case facts and strategy. 20. Exercise independent discretion to identify main and minor witnesses based on analysis of discovery, case facts and strategy. 21. In the absence of an attorney, act as primary liaison between firm and clients. JOB QUALIFICATIONS 1. Three years’ experience as a litigation paralegal responsible for the management of litigation cases required. 2. Experience as a legal assistant or other extensive legal background may substitute. 3. Must be able to exercise independent judgment and discretion. 4. Must be organized and detail oriented. 5. Must be able to analyze cases due to changing case strategy and facts. 6. Must be proficient in analyzing information, forecasting and applying strategy. 7. Must have a proficient knowledge of procedural rules in federal, state and administrative venues. 8. Must have experience analyzing complex litigation discovery, testimony and facts and be proficient in appropriately applying litigation strategy. 9. Must act on instructions willingly and expeditiously. 10. Must have excellent composition skills. 11. Must be a quick learner and team oriented.
